bQuest Launches Longevity Planning Framework to Give Financial Advisors a Playbook for Navigating Aging and Care

New advisor-led framework pairs a five-pillar Longevity Readiness Assessment with a four-step workflow and bQuest's nationwide network of vetted care professionals
DENVER, Nov. 3, 2026 — bQuest, the award-winning Longevity Planning and Care Coordination solution, announced today the launch of its Longevity Planning Framework, a structured, repeatable process that helps registered investment advisors (RIAs) and wealth management firms bring longevity planning and care coordination into the financial planning relationship, before a health event forces the conversation. The framework addresses a growing gap: Americans now spend an average of 12.4 years living with illness or disability, the largest healthspan-lifespan gap among 183 countries studied, according to research from the Mayo Clinic.
That 12.4-year gap is where financial plans are most likely to break down. Most plans account for how long a client may live. Far fewer account for how that client wants to live during years of changing health, or for the housing, caregiving, and care coordination decisions that can significantly reshape a plan. The Longevity Planning Framework gives advisors a way to uncover those gaps early, connect them back to the financial plan, and bring in trusted resources when action is needed.
The demand is growing quickly. By 2030, more than one in five Americans will be 65 or older, and 93% of adults in that age group report at least one chronic condition, according to CDC survey data. Fidelity's 2026 Retiree Health Care Cost Estimate puts expected lifetime healthcare costs at roughly $185,500 for a single 65-year-old and $371,000 for a couple, before most dental care and any custodial long-term care. Importantly, this does not include long-term care expenses. Meanwhile, Cerulli Associates projects $124 trillion in wealth will move through 2048, and has found that more than 70% of heirs are likely to change advisors after an inheritance.
"Clients are living longer, but not necessarily healthier, and that gap is where families and financial plans are tested most," said Lauren Clough, CEO and co-founder of bQuest. "The strongest financial plans account for more than how long clients may live. They account for how clients want to live. Our framework gives advisors a practical way to bring those conversations into the planning relationship, identifying needs before they become crises, and connecting families with the right support. The advisor guides the planning, and bQuest powers the process."
How the Framework Works
The Longevity Planning Framework fits into the review meetings and planning process firms already use. It follows four steps:
Introduce. The advisor presents longevity planning as a natural extension of holistic wealth management and adds it to the client meeting agenda.
Assess. The advisor invites the client to complete the Longevity Readiness Assessment, a brief online assessment covering five pillars: Health; Home & Community; Family & Support; Legal & Legacy; and Financial. Clients receive a readiness score and a personalized action plan.
Plan. With the client's permission, results are shared with the advisor through the bQuest dashboard. The advisor and client review the Longevity Readiness Profile, identify top priorities, and incorporate the findings into the financial plan.
Activate. bQuest helps turn planning priorities into action by connecting clients and families with vetted specialists, care coordination services, and educational resources. Advisors remain focused on the financial planning relationship, while experienced professionals support the specialized needs of aging and caregiving."
Supporting Resources
Advisors and their clients gain access to the bQuest platform's tools for every stage of the journey, including:
bQuest Care Navigator: an AI-powered matching tool that lets clients describe their situation in their own words and points them to relevant, vetted aging-care providers and next steps. Clients choose who to contact, and providers see client details only if the client reaches out.
bQuest Care Concierge: one-on-one consultations with experienced aging-care experts for families facing complex or urgent needs.
Aging Life Care™ Manager connections: access to local professionals who can coordinate services and support families through care transitions.
Cost Calculator: a tool to estimate long-term care costs by location and type of care, helping advisors update financial plans with more realistic expense assumptions.
Resource Hub: articles, podcasts, and webinars, many sourced from bQuest's vetted providers, for advisors and clients alike.
bQuest has also published a companion white paper, "The Longevity Imperative", which examines the demographic, financial, and strategic business management case for longevity planning in the RIA industry and is available at https://thebquest.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/bQuest-White-Paper-The-Longevity-Imperative.pdf
The framework will also complement a new Longevity Planning Foundations Program, developed by bQuest in partnership with the Financial Planning Association (FPA). The self-paced continuing education program provides advisors with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the challenges and decisions associated with aging, caregiving, and longevity, while introducing practical ways to incorporate these considerations into client conversations and financial planning. The program will be launched at FPA Summit 2026, November 9–11, in National Harbor, Maryland.
